Whoa: Behar Says Trump’s Approval Should Be In The 70s With An Economy Like This

The View co-host Joy Behar noted on Tuesday that President Donald Trump deserves much higher approval ratings as a reward for all of the economic gains that happened under his presidency.

On Tuesday’s episode of The View, Behar cited the Washington Post’s documenting of more than 10,000 false or misleading statements since Trump became president. She referenced these numbers in the context of Trump’s approval poll ratings. Behar argued that Trump’s misleading statements help explain his low poll numbers despite a strong economy.

“An angel gets its wings every time he lies,” Behar said. “The other thing about the economy that’s interesting is that Trump’s numbers never seem to go past 38, 39 percent, and with an economy like this he should be in the 70s.”

Meghan McCain then called it “bizarrely historical” that President Trump’s approval ratings are still so low despite the economy being as strong as it is.

“He’s so disgusting that people hate him anyway,” Joy Behar concluded.

According to Rasmussen’s daily Presidential Tracking Poll (Tuesday, April 30, 2019), 49% of Americans approve of President Trump’s job performance, while forty-nine percent disapprove.

The latest figures include 34% who Strongly Approve of the job Trump is doing and 40% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -6.
