Melania mocked after statue of her was built in Slovenia

A statue made of wood of First Lady Melania was revealed in her hometown in Slovenia yesterday. However, the look of the statue immediately drew criticism from people, the Hill reported.

The life-sized statue portrays First Lady Melania in her blue outfit that she wore to Trump’s inauguration in 2017 and shows her raising her left hand in a waving gesture.

The statue was carved into a tree using a chainsaw and is sitting on top a wooden plank in Melania’s hometown Sevnica, Slovenia. The Guardian reports that this is the first monument that is dedicated solely to Melania.

“I can understand why people might think that this falls short as a description of her physical appearance,” artist Brad Downey, who conceptualized the statue, told the Guardian, adding that the end result is “absolutely beautiful.”

Melania’s critics and opponents immediately reacted to this and mocked Melania.

” No need to offend scarecrows…… ” – one person tweeted.

Another person tweeted, ” I’ve made more realistic voodoo dolls. Sad. “

Another person wrote, ” When I saw that earlier today I thought it was satire. What a hot mess! “

Since Trump’s husband was elected to the White House, businesses and storefronts in Slovenia have sold Melania slippers, cake and honey with her face as a branding tool, the outlet reported.
