Today on MSNBC show, ‘AM Joy’ , network political analyst Anand Giridharadas said that President Trump is the “commander-in-chief of rape culture.” Giridharadas’ comments came right after he commented on the Rob Porter situation in the White House and how President Trump responded to it.
Giridharadas stated, “This week was a turning point because I think we’re starting to realize that Trumpism doesn’t merely tolerate sexual abuse, sexual abuse is a very apt metaphor for everything Trumpism is.”
He also added, “This is a rape culture presidency and Donald Trump has become the commander in chief of American rape culture.”
From Insider.Fox News:
New York University Visiting Scholar Anand Giridharadas said America is in the midst of “a rape culture presidency.”
Giridharadas was reacting to statements made by White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, who said Democrats like Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York should look to their own party as well for examples of figures allegedly involved in sexual misconduct.
“[Some Democrats] protected, defended and harbored a sitting president who had sexual relations in the Oval Office and was impeached for lying,” Conway said of President Bill Clinton on ABC News.
Giridharadas dismissed Conway, claiming she “will say anything for money.”
