MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace unloaded on Attorney General William Barr on Friday, and said she considers him to be the “most dangerous” person in the Trump administration.
Barr appeared on Fox News earlier today, where he spoke with Bill Hemmer on variety of topics, including the Russia investigation and why he is looking into its origins.
Barr told Hemmer that some explanations he had received from those involved in the early stages of the investigation into the Trump campaign and Russia probe did not “hang together” under scrutiny.
“I’ve been trying to get answers to the questions and I’ve found that a lot of the answers have been inadequate and some of the explanations I’ve gotten don’t hang together, in a sense I have more questions today than when I first started.”
“Some of the explanations of what occurred,” he added, are what do not “hang together.”
During the inteview, Barr also hit back at Pelosi for accusing him of lying to Congress, saying that they are trying to discredit him because they may be concerned about the outcome of his inquiry.
“I think it’s a laughable charge,” Barr said of Pelosi’s allegation. “I think it’s largely being made to try to discredit me partly because they may be concerned about the outcome of a review of what happened during the election. But obviously, you can look at the face of my testimony and see on its face there is nothing inaccurate about it.”
Former U.S. attorney Joyce Vance said Barr has “done nothing but damage his credibility”, saying he’s “conveniently overlooking the facts” of the case.
Wallace expressed concern about his “demagoguery” before calling Barr outright dangerous:
“I think Barr’s the most dangerous person that works for Donald Trump, because he has Donald Trump’s worldview, Sean Hannity’s worldview, but he oversees the Justice Department.”
