Speaking to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Monday, House Judiciary Committee member Pramila Jayapal suggested a possible reason for Trump’s change of attitude: he might have advanced warning of what is in the Mueller report.
“I’ll tell you, watching the president’s Twitter account, I think he’s just gotten briefed on the rest of the 400-page Mueller report,” said Jayapal. “And that’s why he’s upped all of his, you know, tweets that are trying to criticize Mueller again, because he has been notified that there’s a lot in there.”
As you know, AG William Barr summarized the 400-page report by Mueller in a 4-page document. In it, AG Barr basically states that Mueller didn’t establish a conspiracy or collusion between President Trump and the Russian government. In addition, it did not make a determination either way on whether the president committed obstruction of justice in the course of the probe.
However, some members of Mueller’s legal team have reportedly objected to how Barr characterized their report. On the other hand, the report will be released to Congress and the public, in highly redacted form, on Thursday, so the public will finally see whether AG Barr did a thorough and concise summary.
