President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Thursday to make a stunning announcement about Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ future at the White House.
Unfortunately, Sarah Sanders “will be leaving the White House at the end of the month and going home” to her home state.
“After 3 1/2 years, our wonderful Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be leaving the White House at the end of the month and going home to the Great State of Arkansas…” Trump wrote on Twitter.
He praised her job as press secretary and said she has “extraordinary talents.” The president even suggested she run for governor of Arkansas.
“She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job! I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas – she would be fantastic. Sarah, thank you for a job well done!” He tweeted.
Sanders was on the Trump campaign’s communications team before succeeding Sean Spicer as press secretary in July 2017.
The daughter of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sanders was the third woman to hold the role of White House press secretary and the second person appointed to the job during Trump’s presidency, following Sean Spicer. Sanders quickly became one of the most recognized names within the White House.
