Trump pays a visit to veteran ‘heroes’ at Walter Reed Medical Center

Donald Trump took time out of seeing wife Melania to visit veterans at the Walter Reed Medical Center on Wednesday.

The president snapped photos with members of the US Army and Navy and hailed them as ‘heroes’.

‘It was my great honor to visit with our HEROES last night at Walter Reed Medical Center,’ he tweeted. ‘There is nobody like them!’

Trump has traveled to the military medical center throughout the week to visit Melania, who underwent a kidney procedure on Monday.

The first lady tweeted her thanks to the hospital on Wednesday, writing: ‘A sincere thank you to Walter Reed Medical Unit @WRBethesda & to all who have send good wishes & prayers! I am feeling great & look forward to getting back home soon.’

Melania’s comments on Twitter were her first since she was taken to hospital for an embolization.

Earlier this week Trump said Mealnia would be leaving the hospital in two or three days – a time frame consistent with what her office said Monday when it announced she would remain under observation through the week.

‘Our great First Lady is doing really well. Will be leaving hospital in 2 or 3 days. Thank you for so much love and support!’ Trump wrote on Twitter.

What a wonderful gesture by President Trump. This act just proves you what kind of a great man President Trump is. Simply stunning!
