House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she prays for Trump after she heavily criticized him over infrastructure.
“I pray for the president of the United States,” Pelosi said. “And I pray for the United States of America.”
Pelosi’s remarks come after Trump cut short a meeting over the infrastructure with her and Chuck Schumer.
However, President Trump responded almost immediately to this.
“Democrat leadership is tearing the United States apart, but I will continue to set records for the American People – and Nancy, thank you so much for your prayers, I know you truly mean it!” the President said.
Interestingly enough, this is not the first time that House Speaker Pelosi talks about this.
In June 2017, Pelosi said that she prays for the president’s success.
“I pray for Donald Trump that his presidency will be successful and that his family will be safe,” Pelosi said on the House floor.
In 2018, at a weekly press conference, Pelosi said she prayed Trump would “resist” a government shutdown.
“I did tell the president that I prayed for him,” Pelosi said. She added the president had told her to: “Go tell the press.”
