Over the years, Senator Rand Paul has been very critical of John Bolton and with him leaving the Trump administration, Paul went into offensive.
In series of tweets, Trump announced the departure of Bolton.
“ I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore…. ” – Trump tweeted.
He continued, “ ….I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week. “
Senator Paul told Neil Cavuto, “I think the threat of war around the world is greatly diminished with Bolton out of the White House. I think he had a naive point of view for the world that we should topple regimes everywhere and institute democratic governments and we would make the world perfect or remake the world in our image and frankly it just doesn’t work that way.”
Bolton’s firing came after a number of big disagreements between him and Trump. Senator Paul added that Trump needs someone who won’t try to get into things that need to be done.
Paul rejected Bolton’s views on regime change and said that President Donald Trump should now look for someone aligned with his views and not someone in the “swamp.”
Cavuto then raised his concerns about Trump and the high rate of turnovers in the White House in the past two and a half years. Paul, on the other hand, praised Trump for believing in a more “realistic” foreign policy.
